Judy has been a member of the JLLB for over 30 years, serving in many positions while an Active, including JLLB President 1987-88. She remembers fondly serving as SPAC member, Strategic Planning Chair and Community Vice President. It was during her year as JLLB Vice President for the League when she realized her love of the Long Beach community which eventually led her to a career in community work.

Judy has been and is currently serving on a number of community boards and is currently serving on the city’s Measure A Oversight Commission. Her board involvements include Long Beach City College Foundation Board of Governors, Long Beach Community Foundation,

Leadership Long Beach, Literary Women, CCEJ, Alpert Jewish Community Center and others.

She has held a staff position with the Long Beach Health Department and was the first Executive Director of the Nonprofit Partnership. In both these positions she was able to apply leadership and training skills she was introduced to through the JLLB. Her 15-year stint as Executive Director of the Nonprofit Partnership provided opportunities to be both a student and a teacher of community organization and development.

When Judy is not attending meetings or participating in community projects she loves spending time with her husband David, their children… and especially grandchildren! Judy and David are also having much fun exploring the world.

Judy attended UC Berkeley, Cal-State East Bay and Ohio State University. She earned her BA in Sociology and her Master’s Degree in Social Work.
