A twenty-year member of the Junior League, Christine Manvi is a JLLB Past President who has actively served the League as well as other community organizations.
She is a passionate proponent of the empowering support and training that the League offers women who wish to connect and be the change they wish to see. Born in Brazil, Christine credits the Junior League experience with fostering her deep connections to Long Beach and honing skills for her work in the nonprofit sector.
Christine recently retired from her work as a director of membership and advancement at a local nonprofit. She has a master’s in Public Relations from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California; her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, is in Art History and Film History/Criticism. She has studied in Oxford, England and Mexico City and has an interest in and passion for the work of non-governmental organizations and nonprofits both within the USA and abroad. When not volunteering, Christine can be found on a plane, a museum or in a theater; usually in the company of her husband,Krishna. She loves to read, cook and entertain family and friends and visit her daughter, an artist based in New York.
