Cara Lies, Board Assistant

Cara joined the Junior League of Long Beach in 2012 to meet like-minded women and positively impact her community. Having recently been married and moving to Long Beach, she was looking for meaningful connections, of which she found as a member of the League. Cara graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in both Journalism and Fine Arts from the University of Oregon. She currently works as a freelance Graphic Designer while keeping up with her 5 year-old son. She has worked in the Graphic Design and Marketing fields for over 20 years for companies including the Los Angeles Times and Hoag Hospital. In addition to volunteering with the Junior League of Long Beach over the past 10 years, she has also volunteered with Pathways to Independence, serving disadvantaged single young women, as a member of their Steering Committee and Auction Co-Chair. In the Junior League, Cara has served as Lunafest Chair, Fund Development Chair and Nominating Chair. In her spare time she enjoys painting, drawing, walking, yoga, traveling and cheering on the Oregon Ducks.
