We are an active group of trained volunteers who are committed to positively impacting the physical and emotional welfare of children. The Junior League of Long Beach reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism. Members are trained for leadership and effective volunteer services in management, communications, public policy, advocacy, development and other areas through seminars, workshops and hands-on experiences.

The Junior League of Long Beach (JLLB) has been the driving force behind the kinds of initiatives and institutions that make our community a healthier, more vital place to live. Since 1931, the JLLB has worked with the community to identify existing needs, raise funds to meet those needs, and design projects that are meet those needs and are sustainable. Through research and involvement with community partners, the JLLB has identified a variety of community needs and assigned member volunteers to fill those needs. Over the years, the Junior League has created and developed over 60 projects which have been launched into the community.  Many of these projects have gone on to become their own nonprofit organization, such as the Children’s Dental Clinic.  The JLLB continues to focus on the needs of children in our community and neighborhoods.

Nearly 500 members strong, the Junior League of Long Beach reaches out to all women, regardless of race, color, religion, or national origin, who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism. The majority of our members combine volunteer and professional careers.  The JLLB is one of over 292 Junior Leagues throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Great Britain.  Each individual League is a part of the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI), which represents nearly 200,000 members worldwide.
