Since 1931, the JLLB has worked with the community to identify existing needs, raise funds to meet those needs, and design projects that meet those needs and are sustainable. Through research and involvement with community partners, the JLLB has identified a variety of community needs and assigned member volunteers to fill those needs.
Junior League of Long Beach (JLLB) is celebrating 80 years of service to the community with a $25,000 gift to our first major project - Children's Dental Health Clinic. Especially Me! is an interactive curriculum for girls between the ages of 9 and 12. The program is designed to help pre-teen girls learn more about self-esteem, health, nutrition and exercise, puberty, good decision making, goal setting, and assertiveness. Read More
The Junior League of Long Beach hosts literacy nights at greater Long Beach elementary schools for students and their families to emphasize the importance of reading in the home. JLLB members read books and provide a fun environment for children to engage in the love of books and reading with their families. Read More
